There were a few things I had to do to add payment to my website which weren’t too hard at all. The first things I did was create a new PayPal account for my business and specifically a business account. I have yet to create a specific bank account for my business so I just put in my personal bank account info. Once I created the pay pal account, I linked it too my website in the Shopify Admin page. I immediately tested it to see if it worked by adding a product to my shopping cart and seeing if I could check out with PayPal and it worked perfectly. I then wanted to add an option for people to pay with credit card. This is where Shopify makes their money. In order to have people pay for your products with credit card, you must activate Shopify Payments. The rate that Shopify earns on each purchase is 2.9% + 30cents online and 2.7% in person with a card reader. So it’s a bummer that you won’t earn as much as you want on your products but you’ll still make money. In order for Shopify Payments to be enabled, you must also add a bank account so that they have a place to send your revenue.
